Welcome to The Privy Council
2005 turned into a banner year for public toilets. The Worldwide Conference held in Belgrade brought the issue into the West after
convening for years in various Asian capitols.
As Shanghai prepares to install 2000 gleaming new facilities in
preparation for a 2010 technology exposition, the
New York City Dept. of Transportation which is in charge of this program is unembarrassed to proclaim the citing of
a merely symbolic 20 public toilets for this
City of 8 million residents.
The Privy Council is a group of New Yorkers
who see the need for
a working system of public toilets for our otherwise
great city.
We are urging all New York City residents to contact their city council
people and suggest that they will pass legislation which will result in the creation of a comprehensive, city-wide system of clean, accessible toilets for us all.
We feel that the best mean to accomplish this may be, to expand the system dramatically by giving proper credit to those businesses and others who are already helping us to solve this large issue.
Fortunately, the CEMUSA company, which has been selected to provide the
City with these 20 new public toilets appears willing to consider other and better means of helping us to meet our needs through expanded public infomation etc.
